How to make Blogger Profile in Blogspot Blog?

When we read a blog-no matter whether it has good contents or excellent design, we love to know who is the person behind that blog. This means we are trying to know the legal owner of the blog.

This means providing ownership details of a blog is very important. When I mean ownership details, I mean what we usually called as 'About Me' details of a blog. The 'About Me' gadget or page can be synonymous to legal ownership notice of a blog.

This legal ownership notice and for convenience, I will call it as an 'About Me', can be added to a blog in following methods:
  1. In page/Static posts
  2. Profile Gadget (Google+)
  3. Profile Gadget (Blogger)
  4. Text Gadget
  5. HTML/JavaScript Gadget

We have added this notice as an 'About Us' page. If you add your blog's legal owner details using this method, you can provide as much more information as you want. You can also add third party links and also upload owner's/owners' profile photos.

If you add it using Profile Gadget, your blog's legal owner details will be an information given in either Google+ profile or blogger profile whichever you have activated to access your blog. In this case, you don't have to add profile photo and add text. It's pre-designed and you just have to select from a list of free Gadgets. These are the most easiest and popular methods.

If you add legal owner details using text gadget, you can add only the text information. You cannot upload image and link to third parties. This is not being recommended.

And the third one, the most sexiest methods of all. This is a highly recommended method. If we use this method, we give details in text, upload profile photo, link social networking site profiles and also add stylish marquee text below.

I can assume that almost every blogger knows how to use all methods except the last one. I will go in detail and help you add one using the last method i.e HTML/JavaScript Gadget in my coming post. Remain in the loop and check my updates if you don't want to miss that tutorial.

Russia is interested with Bhutanese

Whenever I visit this blog and see its views, it has never been Bhutan from where the maximum of my readers come from. It will be either India, Bangladesh, Russia or Brazil. Bhutan is either in second last, last or sometimes nowhere to be seen.
Pageviews for last 24 hours

This often makes me wonder if Bhutanese are actually using an internet. No matter how many contents I write, that are targetted to Bhutan, I hardly receive visitors from Bhutan.

I get only sometimes.

And that also with search query something like www. actor tandin bida naked.com. Don't assume I have made a mistake in spacing. It's how my blog actually receives.

This will make anyone wonder if they actually know how to give a search or submit search queries to Google, Bing or other search engines.

This is also the case with my self-hosted WordPress blog Bhutanics.com. Even 20% of the total visitors are from Bhutan. However, I am quite optimistic that the number will grow.

Because more population are getting access to internet. More computer literate people are entering into blogging.

Join Grammarly.com to write Blog Articles BETTER

CLICK HERE TO JOIN. It's FREE. But before that, it's important to know why you must join Grammarly.com.

When we keep on writing an article in our blogs, it's very much likely that mistakes of different magnitude will be committed. Those mistakes will be mainly spelling errors and non-implementation of basic grammar rules.

Blogger doesn't have a mechanism through which we will be notified of our mistakes and line of corrective suggestions will be given. MS-word has spelling error detection mechanism. Wrongly spelt words will be underlined red.

We'll try to write the best article. An article may appear 100% flawless in our own eyes. So then we go on publishing it.

When a third person reads our articles, our silly mistakes and improper use of some basic grammar rules will result us in being judged and intimidated.

Therefore, we need a tool that will detect our spelling and grammatical errors long before publishing them.

Is there any tool capable of doing such level of works?

Yes. There is Grammarly!

Did you hear about Grammarly before? Of course not. So you didn't sign up for it and use its wonderful features. But you are not late. You can join now.

Mad Mimi - Email Marketing Tool Suitable for Bhutanese Bloggers

I would like to give few backgrounds of Mad Mimi before actually explaining its suitability for Bhutanese bloggers. Mad Mimi, as an email marketing service was founded in the year 2008 by Gary Levitt, who was then into the business of Music Production. Mad Mimi was borne out of his mind when none of existing email tool could meet his expectations.

In 2014, GoDaddy purchased Mad Mimi at an agreed price of $45 millions. Therefore, Mad Mimi is now 100% GoDaddy owned Email Marketing Services.

Why Mad Mimi would the best email marketing service for Bhutanese Bloggers?

If we look into the number of bloggers from Bhutan and their patterns of blogging, one can say for quite sure that Bhutanese bloggers aren't a bunch of serious bloggers. They don't care whether their blogs are free-hosted, self-hosted, paid domain or free domain. They only want some area to write. This means they are also bunch of bloggers who won't be willing to pay for their email marketing services and paid advertising of their blogs - they aren't serious bloggers.

They want their blogs free-hosted with free domain. They don't care of content advertising because they aren't a group of pro bloggers aiming to take blogging seriously and also make some money out of their monetization.

In other countries, bloggers are treated as people who are into business. But in Bhutan, blogging means just writing articles and sharing with friends. Nothing much.

They don't care of email list building and email marketing.

Email marketing means sending your blog's contents as emails to a list of contacts you have gathered-email list. In blogging term, this is called as campaign.

You must have received some emails giving you links to purchase so and so from this and that links. These are nothing but campaigns.

Mad Mimi also provides services in email list building and then creating campaigns. There are many companies that provide email marketing services like Mad Mimi does. But then why Mad Mimi for Bhutanese Bloggers?

Bhutanese bloggers don't like to pay for email marketing. Yet they want to share their post articles and increase traffics. In this case, features provided by Mad Mimi come as missing link.

Mad Mimi features to suit Bhutanese bloggers:
  • Bhutanese bloggers are new into blogging. Mad Mimi is a simple Email Marketing Tool.
  • Bhutanese bloggers aren't willing to pay for email marketing. In Mad Mimi an email can be sent to 100 people.
  • Bhutanese bloggers like any blogger love beautiful designs. Mad Mimi has good campaign designs.
  • Bhutanese bloggers love sharing to many friends. Mad Mimi is integrated with other social media.
  • Bhutanese bloggers want something ready. Mad Mimi has email marketing templates already being designed.
It's only when you send emails through such campaigns, your blog will receive regular readers and also new followers. I have been using Mad Mimi for few months and has also created two-three campaigns.

How to join Mad Mimi?

Step-1
Open Mad Mimi.

Step-2
Click on Create Account

Step-3
Get your Email ID verified

Step-4
Open your Mad Mimi Dashboard

Step-5
Click on Compose for New Campaign

Step-6
Click on Audience to add Contacts

Step-7
You can then send the campaign.

If all the people you have added in audience open their inbox, your campaign would have got delivered. If they happen to open it, your blog's views will get increased. It seems cool, right? Try it then.

10 genuine methods for Bhutanese to make alternative income

If you think there are no other ways of making alternative income in Bhutan and you are suffering to make ends meet, probably you must have not gone out of your house and walked beyond your backyard lawn. If you really try to read things around you, there are many sources from which you can make good alternative income.

So today I have come up with a list of methods through which you can make good side income. There may be more. But I don't want to explain things I haven't experienced. So this list shall be a list of genuine alternative income making methods.

#1 RICBL Sales Executive Membership

You must have heard this before. There are 2000 plus Bhutanese working as part time Sales Executives with RICBL. It’s a commission based. You will be paid depending on the number of people you have helped in getting insured – just like referrals of any blog monetization program.

If you can insure more people, higher will be your commission. It’s very much simple. But they have different commission rates for different insurance policies. However it guarantees a continued income. Once a person you have recommended gets insured, you’ll be receiving commission until his policy gets matured.

I am also one such Sales Executive. I have attended training conducted by RICBL sometimes in 2014 and got certified. Till now, I have insured around 24 people (mostly my relatives and friends) fetching me monthly commission of Nu.3,500 per month. If I can insure more people, my commission will increase.

Since this provides an opportunity of making good money, some of my friends have resigned from their jobs and are into doing full time Sales Executives. They are earning as high as Nu.80,000 commission in a month.

#2 Freelance Tourist Guides

If you know how to communicate in Chinese, Japanese, Thai or Korean languages, you’ll get part time job as local tourists’ guide to guide tourists from those countries in and around Thimphu/Paro during weekends.

My office colleague Singye earns more than USD 100 per day by doing part time guide during weekends and government holidays. He has studied his bachelor degree in Japan and knows Japanese language well.

#3 Tuition Works

In town there is always one or two parents who want their children undergo tuition after school or during weekends. You can take one or two from your neighborhood and start the tuition in the subject where your capabilities lie. If you can do well, you will get more number of tutees in coming days thereby increasing your side income.

But it’s quite cumbersome. You have to study before tuition, prepare lesson plans and collect study materials to deliver valuable tuition. It’s best for teachers.

#4 Accounts Preparation

If you are good in book keeping, accounts preparation or Bhutanese tax computation policies, there will be someone who would love to have you handling their commercial works’ accounts. You can target travel agents. There are many travel agents who scratch their heads during annual BIT and PIT filing. You can grasp such opportunities.

You must know some people who are into such line of business. If you don’t, it’s never too early to start building relationship. My friend earns more than Nu.15,000 in a month out of handling accounts of petty businesses in and around Thimphu.

#5 Web Designing Works

If you have studied computer science, BCA or knows web designings and wants to make some alternative income, you can design websites and sell. You can focus travel agents.

They won’t look much into technicalities and professionalism. Many of my friends who are making side income from such works are just customizing WordPress themes and delivering to them. It’s not very difficult.

#6 Blogging & Affiliate Marketing

If you have a good blog with unique contents and good number of visitors, then you can start integrating it with various content monetization programs.

You can sign up with Google Adsense, VigLink, Bidvertiser, InFolinks and more to start earning some extra income out of your blog/website. You can read my recommended blog monetization programs for Bhutanese.

#7 Facebook Group/Page Maintenance

I am sure you must have come across the second hand stuffs trading group in Facebook. I am not talking about other copied versions of Passang Passu Tshering’s Facebook group. I am talking about B-bay founded by Passu Diary.

If you ask Passang Tshering on how much and how he earns from this group, you’ll get convinced that Facebook too can be a source of alternative income. But you must have good number of members or followers in page/group you can access.

#8 Website Contents Writing

Some travel agents are paying to update their websites with tourism related updates and happenings on regular basis. If you have good command in English and online marketing skills, you will surely get one or two travel agents who will be willing to pay for your services.

It’s not only travel agents, some new firms will also offer you with money to write reviews of their products or services to penetrate market.

#9 Freelance Photographer

Just like people of other countries, more and more Bhutanese people are becoming but who love being photographed in good dresses and during special occasions.

If you have passion in photography and also own good camera and accessories, people who want to photograph family photos, banner photos, ads photos, cover photos, content photos, album and visual are many.

#10 Other Sources

There are also many genuine ways of making alternative income in Bhutan. If you are passionate of paintings, drawings, wood carving, you can also make good side income during weekends. Your passion will remain lit as well as you will get paid.

Some of my friends are also making side income by selling cars or land plots of others for agreed rate of commission.
 ________________

However, it doesn't mean that I am encouraging you to remain materialistic and go after money all the time. You should also give time for your children, parents, loved ones and friends. Money is not everything.

Which blog monetization program is best for Bhutanese Bloggers?

Bloggers can get registered with online content monetization programs. There are literally more than hundreds that provide this service for bloggers, affiliate marketers, website owners and also content developers.

But number should remain as number. We shouldn’t get excited looking at the numbers of content monetization program providers. All have their own shares of advantages and limitations. We, as bloggers whose long-run goal is to make money out of our blogs should exercise well in studying their advantages and limitations.

Time is precious. We cannot afford to waste our time spending on less helpful blog monetization programs.

I have also studied some of such programs. I have registered in which I think would worth my time and effort. In some, though I really wish to get registered and start monetizing my blog, I couldn’t do so due to their own policies or non-availability of their services in this geographical area. I will introduce all.

Google Adsense
This is one of the best content monetization programs any experienced online marketing expert would recommend for you.

It’s said that one can earn whenever visitors genuinely click on those ads being displayed in your website/blog footer, header, and sidebars.

Bloggers can submit the application for it. The Adsense team will review the blog you’ve submitted and respond accordingly. The response from their side will be either approval or disapproval. Former happens for new bloggers usually.

I love Google Adsense looking at the quality of their ads formats, availability of various helps for it, mode of payment and its popularity.

But it has a lot of restrictions and complicated policies. Your application won’t get approved in first few attempts. Since my application is also not yet in approved status, I cannot comment much about Google Adsense’s earning levels.

Will I recommend this to Bhutanese Bloggers?
Yes. It’s quite obvious that you will get disapproved for first few instances. First develop a good contents and traffics. It’s not recommended for bloggers having less number of articles or low traffics. It’s not for few days old bloggers.

InFolinks
This is the best Google Adsense alternative program for blog monetization. Registration procedures are simple and rules are easy. There are also not many approval scrutiny processes like in Google Adsense. This is best recommended for new bloggers who are having few numbers of posts and traffics level is quite lower.

Photo: Screenshot of my Infolink account

I have signed up with it few weeks before and it’s running successfully in my blog. I am earning at least $0.8 per day. And its payment threshold is $100. This means Infolinks will send your earnings when your accumulated earnings reach $100. This is quite lower when compared with other programs, which indeed is good for us. .

Viglink
Viglink is another blog monetization program that is as easy as Infolinks in installation and integration with your blog. The good part of Viglink is that it doesn’t have strict approval policies like in Google Adsense or other affiliate programs.

Photo: Screenshot of my Viglink account
Once you sign up with it and add its code in your template, things thereafter are being carried out by Viglink. Even high paid keyword linking is also done by itself. Literally you don’t have to do anything.

I have also signed up with it few weeks back. As of now, my blog couldn’t generate even a single cent out of this. May be things would change.

Chitika
Chitika is also one of my recommendations to monetize your blog. It also doesn’t have many approval procedures.

The integration and approval are very quick. But, I personally didn’t like it due to that fact of its account needing to get verified with paypal account. Since I don’t paypal account, I didn’t add this in my blog. Bloggers having paypal account can try it. It appears more tempting compare to infolinks and bidvertiser.

Bidvertiser
I personally love Bidvertiser and Infolinks more than other blog monetization programs I know of. The revenues/earnings my blog could receive in my respective account are higher in these two affiliate programs.

Photo: Screenshot of my Bidvertiser account

These two also has less approval procedures and integration is very easy. I think even primary school kid can do that. Guides are given in their respective websites.Read Here: How to register your blog with Bidvertiser to make money online.Click here to start earning from Bidvertiser: Monetize your Website or Blog with BidVertiser

15 reasons commenting is a powerful marketing tool for Bloggers

If I were to tell something to Bhutanese bloggers, it would be for them to develop a habit of reading other blogs and leaving comments. Blog commenting is an indirect method of doing free blog advertisement. It makes sense, because unless you comment in others’ blogs, how can anybody know you too are a blogger.

When you comment in other blogs, indirectly you are saying that you also maintain a blog and why you guys not check my blog too. There are also other reasons for why you as a blogger must develop the habit of commenting in other blogs.

#1 Discover New Blogs

Blog commenting is a mechanism through which your blog will get noticed in a pool of thousand plus blogs. So much your blog gets noticed, you’ll also notice new blogs that are very much compatible with your interests.

#2 Blog Readers

The classic reason of blog commenting is to receive readers. If you leave valuable comments, there is every possibility that visitors of that article or blog will click on your profile. Since profile is linked with the blog, your blog will receive readers.

#3 Blog Subscribers

If your article can impress first-time visitors, they’ll subscribe your blog via email subscription or social media page to stay in your loop. This shall guarantee consistent visits from them.

#4 Back-link Sources

When your blog has a large number of readers and subscribers, one or two of them will surely refer your posts or ideas by giving links in their posts. This can be a source of back-links for your blog which is very important for SEO purposes.

#5 Blog Searches

When your blog has good number of readers, subscribers and also praiseworthy back-links, your blog will also appear as search results in queries submitted by readers via different search engines.

#6 Exposure

Your blog will get exposure in the cyberspace. You as a person behind it will also get exposure in blogging world and get opportunities in learning many from other bloggers.

#7 Blog Rank

What shall determine the rank of a blog? Obliviously, readers, subscribers, traffics and back-links. When your blog has acquired all of them, your blog’s rank will also improve.

#8 Interactions

Blog commenting is one of the most beneficial models of interactions among bloggers. It’s often through comments, we get to know new bloggers and become friends online.

#9 Problems-solutions Sharing

When you get to know more blogger friends and then interactions pick up the pace, we often get answers for our questions and solutions for our problems. You can connect with other successful bloggers. You can learn or help others in learning.

#10 Work Appreciations

When you leave a comment, it is a sign that you read, analyzed, cared and appreciated the views or solutions presented by the author. Unless you leave comment, how can the author know you read it or even cared to read it? So commenting is a proof of your appreciation for his/her works.

#11 New Ideas

Blog commenting has been one of the sources of new ideas for my blog posts. When a reader leaves comment with his/her doubts or problem, I can develop a post to address that problem or answer that question.

#12 Opportunities

When you are active in reading a blog or leaving comment, more often than not, that blog owner will feel that you are so much interested in him or her blog. To thank you for your constant support, you’ll be given a chance for guest blogging, invite for workshops or conference which will help you introduce your blog to a wider audience.

#13 Social Profile

When you are active in blog commenting, more and more people will come to know more about you online. They may follow you various social networking sites which thereby will improve your social profile.

#14 Community Building

When you get good number of friends in your various social network circles, more and more people will start coming together with you. This will in long-run functioning as some sort of online community.

#15 Brand Image

You have good number of readers, followers, subscribers and commentors in your blog just because you are consistent with blog commenting, the voice of your blog will be heard far and wide. This in turn helps you in maintaining the brand image of your blog.

So, now how to leave a comment?
It’s very easy. Scroll down to the bottom of a post for which you want to leave a comment. Fill up the details, type your comment and click on Post Comment. Easy!

When you leave a comment, don’t be in too rush and leave un-related comment. And also don’t leave single-worded comment which blog owner won’t publish it as publishing that one-worded comment will be as good as having no comment. Read: The Smart Methods of Commenting in Posts of other Blogs.

IBB 13: An interview with Sangye Dema of the blog 'My Page'

Some Bhutanese bloggers who used to be active bloggers before are dormant these days. When you know one of such bloggers, you might be wondering what must have happened to them. Mrs. Sangye Dema who blogs at 'My Page' can be a good example. She used to be one of the active bloggers in Bhutanese bloggers' circle.

I have requested her for this interview to share her views and more importantly to call her back into blogging. It doesn't seem fair to let once-active blogger to remain silent and dormant without any updates. Hope she'll resume her earlier blogging pattern soon.

1. Thank you for your time and welcome to this interview. First of all, can you tell us little bit about yourself and your blog?
Thank you. I am a teacher and had been teaching for the last 20 years. Most of my teaching career was spent in the rural communities. My blog titled 'My Page' came into existence in 2009 where I blog both fiction and real events occasionally.

2. How you got introduced into blogging? Who helped you the most in your initial blogging journey?
I used to read quite a lot during my school days but my interest in writing developed when I was pursuing a diploma in 2006. During that time, my younger brother introduced me to the world of blogging and I started writing bits and pieces on nopkin.com under a pseudonym and later created my own blog. My husband is my greatest critic.

3. Some people say that blogging is a modern way of maintaining a diary. But for some it’s another source of income. What is blogging for you?
Blogging has served as my diary and my stress releasing mantra during the time of personal crises. I have never earned a single penny from it.

4. If some of your students are interested in becoming bloggers, what would be few things that you will suggest not to do in the start-up phase of their blogs?
I would give them a big green signal and ask them to start simple. “Think big but Start small…one step at a time.”

5. Guest blogging isn’t popular among Bhutanese bloggers. What do you think should be done to encourage this culture?
Blogging though is not very popular in the rural communities in Bhutan, I think it is picking up in the urban where people have more access to internet. Bloggers in the vicinity should come together more often and create awareness about blogging.

6. Do you know that bloggers can make some money online by displaying ads of various monetizing programs?
I have no such idea.

7. Can you suggest some changes in the current prevalent Bhutanese bloggers’ ways of blogging to make blogging in Bhutan better?
Every bloggers have their unique technique of blogging. I enjoy going through the Bhutanese blogs because I can relate to them. Bloggers need consistency in updating their blogs.  Bhutanese bloggers do not lack ideas but consistency.

8. What do you do when you don’t blog? How they help you in improving your blogging skills?
When I don’t blog I spend my time with my little daughter (she is one and half year old). I also volunteer with RENEW at our community level. And most of the time I am preparing my lesson or planning related to my work.

9. There is a Community of Bhutanese Bloggers (CBB) founded sometimes in 2015 by a group of Bhutanese bloggers. But you are neither a member of it nor participated in any of its events till date. What holds you back?
I know about it and also follow them on Facebook. It is a great initiative. But I have not been able to participate in any of its events owing to other obligations. And moreover the events are held in West where it is quite impossible for me to travel due to the nature of my work and the distance from my work place. But I am hopeful that I will be able to join their events in future.

10. You are a teacher by profession and blogger by passion. How related is blogging with the teaching profession?
Blogging is like spices in my teaching career. I often refer to blogs while teaching. I am still learning from both blogging and teaching.
My Words
If you go back to the date/year in which she has started blogging, you'll feel that she would be one of the bloggers who will having good experiences in blogging. She also has quite a good number of posts in her. And to read her wonderful posts, you can subscribe her blog and follow her in Facebook

How to install Alexa Page Rank widget in Blogger for free?

We, as bloggers, have useful Google's Google Page Rank and Alexa's Alexa Page Rank tools. They help us to study the popularity of our blogs/websites in internet world at an international level as well as at national level.

It's often the yardstick used by advertisers before actually agreeing to place ads in our websites or blogs. It's very much unlucky that a blog having low Alexa page rank will get lesser number of advertisers willing to advertise their products or services via that blog as low Alexa rank is a mathematical proof of being less popular.

How to break an image and upload as a stylish Grid in Instagram?

Instagram is a great tool for visual editing enthusiasts. It has varied options of predetermined editing formats and one can just choose one of them to make an image more appealing and professional. We can then either share with friends in various social media or keep it to be printed in a hard copy.

Instagram also provides various tools to prepare a photo gallery to be presented/shared in other CMS-blogging platforms. We have shared following tutorials for preparation of a photo gallery using Instagram:
  1. How to link Blogger and Instagram via Instagram Badges?
  2. How to share Instagram photos as a badge in Blogger?
  3. How to share Instagram photos in a WordPress Blog?
  4. How to share Instagram photos in Blogger Widget?
  5. How to share Instagram photos in a Blogger Page?
If you read above tutorials, you'll get convinced that Instagram indeed is a great useful tool for bloggers providing various methods of integrating photos with blogs.

But in today's tutorial, we are going to show you a different method of uploading a photo in Instagram. It's a different method in a sense that you can break one image into different bits and upload them one-by-one. When all those bits get upload and view, they will form like collage and appear just like one image altogether. This sounds wonderful. Isn't it?

Let us get started.

Do you have a photo ready to be uploaded in Instagram? If not, get one and keep it ready. But for this tutorial, I have chosen a wonderful photo of Her Majesty Queen Jetsen Pema Wangchuk.

I can upload it as one image in my Instagram account. But for this tutorial specifically, I will break into pieces and upload piece-by-piece to appear like a wonderful collage.

We know that the pattern of photo display of Instagram is 3 x N i.e 3 rows and n number of columns. But if you want to display the image in one display, we have to assume it as 3 x 4. This means one photo has to get divided into 12 squarely-pieces.

I have divided into 12 square pieces. You can do this in MS-paint or any other photo editing software. But don't forget to use rulers. Otherwise, the original photo may get distorted. I have used Ms-paint. It's simple.

Break the image into 3x4 in accordance with above pattern. If original image is square, you can do in 3x3. I have done in 3x4 as original image itself is rectangular. The only thing is, number of rows shouldn't be lower and higher than 3.

Once above procedure is done, it's an uploading time. But as I already said, you must be careful at the time of uploading. We aren't uploading just one photo. We are instead uploading many photos to appear like one when viewed/displayed together. We have to upload piece-by-piece chronologically starting from the piece that is on the bottom right-hand side of the main photo. To help you, I have numbered something like below. You must follow my numbering pattern at the time of uploading those pieces.

You have to upload the piece '1' first and then piece '12' last. When all the pieces are completely upload and then view your Instagram profile, those upload pieces will form yet another collage of wonderful photo in your profile wall.

Your collage should appear something in above if you have uploaded every piece in correct sequence. If you have either missed one piece or upload one twice or more or in wrong order, you'll not get the above collage. You can click my Instagram Account to view this in actual.
Your Turn
You can try this with another such wonderful photo. I can assure that it will be an absolute fun for you. Your Instagram profile will get beautified by manifolds. And if you also know any other tips to play with Instagram, please share with us in comment. We would love to learn your tips too. Thanks!
