12 differences between professional & normal bloggings

You must have heard these terms – professional blogging and normal blogging. But have you ever wondered what must be the differences between the two?

In simple term, professional bloggers blog as a career and earn living out of it whereas normal bloggers just blog out of passion for writing online without a motive of making a living out of it.

However, this doesn’t encompass all their differences. Therefore, let us try differentiating between the two based on following areas:

Motive of Blogging

A person who is a professional blogger aims only to make more and more money out of his blog. So the main motive in professional blogging is to make more money. But in normal blogging, it’s just to express opinions or simply to archive experiences or knowledge.

Main Income Source

The money earned out of blogging will be main income for professional blogger. So blogging will remain as main income source in professional blogging. In normal blogging, blog won’t be a main income source as motive isn’t to make money out of it.

No. of authors

A blog maintained by professional blogger will have more than one author. Many bloggers will be contributing guest posts in professional blogs that have higher traffics so that in return their blogs get noticed by the readers. But in normal blogging, usually one person will maintain and write articles in the blog.

Areas of Blogging

Professional blogging will be focused on one area i.e. its niche like blogging, photography, technology etc. But normal blogging will be at random whatever comes in blogger’s mind.

Blogging Skills

Professional blogger should have better blogging skills when compared to normal bloggers. Latter doesn’t have to bring more traffic unlike in former where traffic determines income level.

Blog Designs

A blog focusing on professional blogging will have better and generally accepted kind of blog design. But normal blogger doesn’t need professional design. He can have designs according to his own preferences.

Expenses in Blogging

In professional blogging, a blogger will have to spend at least some in buying domain, auto-responder, Alexa, content marketing and hosting. But in normal blogging, those things aren’t necessary and expense will be almost zero.

Advertisements

In professional blogging, display of third party ads is almost unavoidable. They help to earn money. In normal blogging, ads display isn’t necessary.

Update Frequency

Professional blogger must update as frequent as possible to cope up with change in taste of people and then generate traffics. In normal blogging, updating can be done as and when admin feels like to do. It depends on him.

Marketing

In professional blogging, different techniques or strategies must be used to market the blog and its contents to gain more traffic. Traffics determine income level. But in normal blogging, marketing of a blog isn’t necessary.

Traffic Importance

Professional blogging is a game of traffic. A blog with good traffics can earn more. But in normal blogging, traffic isn’t that much important.

Nature of Views

In professional blogging, the views and expressions given in contents will be specifically more on professional fields whereas in normal blogging, things will be views of a person who maintains the blog.
