Commenting in the posts of other blogs is one of the most powerful sources
of traffic after guest blogging. In guest blogging you must be able to write
good articles so that a person in whose blog you want to publish them have to feel like to
accept them. Otherwise, neither he will accept your articles nor your energy
and time used in writing them will prove productive.
If you’re a new blogger, commenting in other blogs should be treated as a
main source of traffic. Your focus also should be on it. This means you have to
forget about guest blogging for time being. Guest blogging isn’t as easy as
explaining bread to your grandmother. I told you already.
But you should maintain a certain discipline while commenting. You
shouldn’t go on commenting in every blog you come across to generate traffic
like a frantic rhino running in a park. In every possibility your comment may
be moderated or even deleted otherwise.
So let us see the points we have to remember while commenting. I feel your
main purpose of commenting in other blogs should remain smart and
productive.
Be choosy
The main purpose of commenting in other blogs should be to expose your blog
and bring more traffic by bringing more followers and readers. But you have to
see whether a blog you want to comment is a good blog and has a larger number
of followers. Commenting in new blogs or blogs that don’t have many followers
and readers won’t bring you new readers and followers.
Be patient
You should take your own time to critically analyze the content of the
article. This means you shouldn’t directly jump to comment. If you do so, the
views you have expressed in comment may become entirely different from what the
main article is saying. In first place your comment will not get published.
Even it gets it so; you’ll be laughed by other readers for being that much lazy.
Be Competitive
If there are comments already being published, you have to try reading all.
You shouldn’t at all repeat the points that are being published. No author will
find joy in publishing the copy-pasted comments. And then you should try to
comment better than them. This will make you appear a serious reader and the
possibility of people coming in your blog as new followers will be increased.
Be questioner
If you can leave one or two related questions in comment it will be a plus
point. Genuine question will not only make author answer it but will also give
scope for writing two or more articles on it. The readers may love it if they
also had same question back in their minds. This will increase your interaction
with other bloggers.
Be appreciative
You shouldn’t forget to leave one or two sentences appreciating the work of
that author. It’s human nature to love appreciation. Don’t ever challenge the
views expressed in it. You may appear rude possibly resulting in the deletion
of your comment if admin and author are one and same.
Be suggestive
You can also suggest other materials or a post link from your blog if you
have written one. But suggested links should be related to the article and
contain more ideas compare to it. It will be no use sharing links that contain
lesser views or is similar to main article. Your comment will get deleted without
getting published. You’ll then feel humiliated.
Be Selfless
Some people have this habit of leaving URL address of their blogs at the
bottom of their comments. The main reason behind for it becomes very obvious.
You will appear selfish and thereby readers won’t be feeling to visit a blog of
selfish person. If they get impressed by your comment, they will surely open
your profile and then subsequently your blog. They may even become your
followers.
Therefore, if your aim is to become a professional blogger and make money
out of blogging, commenting in other blogs should be treated as an art. You
must be careful. It is through commenting that you advertise your blog,
interact with other successful bloggers, invite people to give some back links
and then ultimately generate your blog’s traffic. There isn’t any reason as to
why a blogger should avoid commenting in other blogs.
