We know that creation of Facebook Fan Page for a blog is one of the most proven-effective methods of improving blog traffic and its page-views. It’s a medium through which your blog can be advertised. It has a potential to take your blog beyond the circle of your friends.
But creation of a Facebook page alone won’t serve the purpose. You must manage it in the best possible ways to harness its potentials. You have to share your updates in its wall and sometimes external links related to your blogging area. Once its Facebook page is opened you should know what it takes to keep the fans well attended through it.
You have to make it visible for your readers so that they don’t have to do many things just to like your page. Otherwise you will need a spare life to collect even few hundred likes which means page-views of your blog will also not increase. For this, adding of Facebook likes box in your blog is usually a recommendation from blogging experts. And it can be added in three ways:
- Static Gadget
- Sliding Box
- Welcoming Box
If you add it as static gadget, then the Facebook Likes Box will remain static as one of the widgets either in sidebar or footer (wherever you add it). In a sliding box method, your likes box will be hidden either on left side or right side of the blog area. It will appear only when your reader takes navigation cursor near to it. In welcoming box, the Facebook Likes box will appear as soon as a reader opens your blog. But today let us learn only how to add Facebook Likes Box as a Static Gadget.
If you haven’t created a Facebook page, first create it. Guidelines were given in above link. Hope you have created it. Now let us proceed with an addition of it as a sidebar Gadget.
- Login to your blog
- Select the blog for which you have created the page.
- Click on Layout
- Click on Add Gadget
- Scroll down
- Select HTML/JavaScript
- Keep the title space blank
- In the content space, paste the given HTML.
<div class="fb-page" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/To-learn-Blogging-450080608371380/timeline/" data-small-header="false" data-adapt-container-width="true" data-hide-cover="false" data-show-facepile="true" data-show-posts="false"></div>
In above HTML, replace blue highlighted font with your Blog’s Facebook Fan Page URL. And once it’s been changed, click on SAVE. You are done. You may now click on view blog to see it being added in a sidebar beautifully. It should appear wonderful. Keep blogging. Cheers!
