8 popular disadvantages of blogging at blogger.com


We have learned the 12 advantages of maintaining a blog at blogger.com. And also we have learned some basic advantages and disadvantages of blogging at WordPress.com. Today let us see what are the possible disadvantages of maintaining your personal or business blog at blogger.com

Less No. of free templates
When compared with other well established blogging platforms, blogger.com has only countable free templates. 

Restriction in registration
If you want to open a blog at blogger.com you cannot do so unless you are a Gmail Account holder. Email IDs other than that of Gmail won’t be accepted. 

Not ideal for blind bloggers
If you are a visually impaired blogger, blogger.com isn’t a recommended blogging platform for you. It doesn’t support JAWS, screen reader software. All Google products will be accessible only with additional adds-on (Point contributed by Amrith Bdr Subba, visually impaired blogger)  

Templates not SEO Responsive
Templates built for blogger.com don’t have SEO features embedded in them. This will result in low traffic for your blog. 

Not much professionalism
No blogger templates are professionally designed when compared with that of other platforms. They lack qualities that are needed for your blog to become noticeable in the internet world. 

No template Developers
There isn’t a team of templates designers at blogger.com. All the free templates available there must have been since the blogger.com was started. 

No Dynamism
The number of new templates being added is almost zero. This doesn’t make blogger.com dynamic. It doesn’t respect changes. 

Misuse of HTML editing Freedom
Blogger.com gives freedom for adding third party widgets and also editing of its template HTMLs. This not only makes bloggers vulnerable for his/her blog data losing and also thoroughly confuses them.
