Love shouldn’t be spread only within borders. No walls created by prejudices, cultures, traditions
or government policies should remain insurmountable for a genuine love. These are the messages engraved in the latest
Hindi blockbuster movie Bajrangi Bhaijaan. It's a movie that must be watched by people of both the countries.
India and Pakistan have a historical black dot. It was
during division of India into two after its independence – Pakistan for Muslims
and India for Hindus. Religion divided people and the worst thing was people of
these religions hated each other so much.
However, it’s something that has happened long time ago. It
doesn’t deserve to be kept in the minds. India and Pakistan should have
white-washed that dot and have had moved quite far with a better relationship.
But governments have created boundaries through different
policies. In Pakistan, people were made to believe India and people out there
to be the worst. And also Indians were made to believe Pakistan and people out
there to be the ones they have to hate the most. Media gave false pictures of each
other to other. So this mentality of difference has chronically remained in the
minds of both countries.
This Blockbuster movie has an essence that can actually
change all. Pakistan was also treated well unlike in many other Hindi movies.
Salman Khan takes the lost child to her hometown despite
numerous walls standing on his way. Government doesn’t give them passport; media
blows things; police rushes for a hunt and then family objects the idea. But he
finds ways in all – genuine love.
At last media also realizes the intention and
reports as it is without making changes.
The lost child at last not only reaches her home but also
recovers from her accidental vocal lost. The true love was taken across
borders.
We now know that when government is being reduced to individual, everyone is but who
deserves love and to be loved.
So India
and Pakistan can love each other. There is no reason to hate each other now. History shouldn't be an excuse.
